I chose the Oberth Class because it just looks stockier and easier to protect against the effects of belly landing than the Enterprise (I had previously been working on an Andrew Probert Enterprise from Star Trek: The Motion Picture).Īdditionally, the saucer section is greatly expanded on the Oberth Class to give me a wing area roughly 30 inches long and 25 inches wide. In typical fashion though, I picked something a bit harder to come across- the Oberth-Class research vessel first appearing in Star Trek III: The Search For Spock. I've been seeing people do these radio controlled flying Starships from Star Trek and I thought it was time to give it a go as I have been spending a few years focusing on scratchbuilding without plans. ![]()
